We are SNAP , the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. We are the largest, oldest and most active support group for women and men wounded by religious authority figures (priests, ministers, bishops, deacons, nuns and others). We are an independent and confidential organization, with no connections with the church or church officials. We are also a non-profit, certified 501 (c) (3) organization and we are here to help.

SNAP was founded by Chicago’s Barbara Blaine in 1988. Since then, SNAP has helped thousands of survivors. We offer support in person, (via monthly self-help group meetings in chapters across the country), ove the phone, online, and twice-a-year at national meetings.

Grounded in Catholic tradition, Fortunate Families ministers primarily with Catholic parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender daughters and sons—but welcomes families of all faiths. When parents explore and value their personal stories, they are empowered to share that story with their family circle, their faith community and the larger society.

Parents just learning that they have a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender daughter or son will find resources—including the Fortunate Families Newsletter—and support to help them understand, accept, and affirm their child who is a child of God. Catholic parents will find information regarding Church teaching and pastoral responses to the gay or lesbian child. Parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender daughters and gay sons who yearn for a more welcoming church and society will find strategies for making their faith communities and their world safer and more just for their children.

The mission of HIV Anonymous is:

To assist people with HIV or AIDS and their loved ones in taking control of their spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional health by providing current, comprehensive information in one source.

To bring together: HIV support groups, patients, and organizations that serve people with HIV to work towards the common goal of unity, education, support, and spiritual awareness.  By linking resources we are creating a centralized community as well as the largest network for support ever.
