OutSmart is Houston’s award-winning magazine serving the gay and lesbian community. Published monthly, OutSmart covers local and national news, politics, health, arts and entertainment, food and dining, and issues affecting the GLBT audience. OutSmart has a high profile in the gay community through local involvement, partnerships, and its website, OutSmartMagazine.com.

Houston’s alternative newspaper. Not gay, but very gay friendly. A great resource for restaurants, theaters and live entertainment. The Press has a good personal ad section with Men Seeking Men and Women Seeking Women. Available free all over town.

Crystal Meth Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addiction to crystal meth. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using. There are no dues or fees for CMA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. CMA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; and neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to lead a sober life and to carry the message of recovery to the crystal meth addict who still suffers.

Alcoholism, addiction and drug dependency are very complex diseases. Fortunately, The Council can help anyone at any time with any issue related to alcohol or drugs. We do this through prevention, intervention, outpatient treatment and aftercare, education and outreach.

We reach people at home, at school, at work and in the community and meet individuals, families and businesses where they are in the cycle of addiction, from non-use, to addiction, to recovery.

The Council believes in finding solutions that will effectively treat the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction and ultimately move us closer to eliminating its impact on our community.

AssistHers is a volunteer organization formed in 1996 to provide non-medical in-home support and care to lesbians with illnesses such as cancer, fibromyalgia, HIV / AIDS and multiple sclerosis. Volunteers work together to provide transportation and care to help clients remain in their own homes.
